Is the Nammi 01 the Best Electric Car for Nepal?

Nammi 01, a new electric vehicle (EV) has arrived in Kathmandu.

The Nammi 01, made by Chinese company Dongfeng, has arrived in the Nepali market. MAW, the official dealer for Dongfeng’s passenger vehicles in Nepal, brought it in.

The Nammi 01 is a premium electric hatchback with high-end features. It has frameless doors, flush handles, and self-parking capabilities. Inside, it has a 5-inch instrument panel and a 12.8-inch central screen with mobile remote control and over-the-air update features. The steering wheel is a sporty two-spoke multifunctional type.

For safety, the car has ADAS 2.0 features, a 360-degree camera, and two airbags.

The dimensions of the Nammi 01 are 4030 mm in length, 1810 mm in width, and 1570 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2660 mm. It has 17-inch wheels and a ground clearance of 175 mm.

The car is equipped with a 42-kilowatt-hour lithium iron phosphate battery pack and a 70-kilowatt motor, giving it a range of 400 kilometers according to the company. Using a DC fast charger, it can be charged from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes.

The Nammi 01 claims to stand on the new electric platform. It supports L2 active driving assistance features, including AEB and automatic parking functions. Additionally, it has a single electric motor for 163 hp. As for the battery, it is claimed to be a sodium solid-state battery. 

MAW has announced that the price of the Nammi 01 in the Nepali market is Rs. 32.99 lakh for the 31.4 kWh battery variant and Rs. 35.99 lakh for the 42.3 kWh battery variant.
