Introduction

BYD, one of the leading electric vehicle manufacturers in the world, is planning to launch its new electric SUV, the BYD Atto 3, in Nepal soon. The Atto 3 has a trendy appearance that follows BYD’s Dragon Face 3.0 design philosophy. It has a sharp front fascia with LED headlights and daytime running lights, a large grille with a chrome strip and the BYD logo, and a sporty bumper with fog lamps and air intakes. The side profile has a sloping roofline, black wheel arches, chrome door handles, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The rear end has LED taillights connected by a light bar, a spoiler, a shark fin antenna, and a dual-tone bumper.

The interior of the Atto 3 is rhythmic and comfortable, with a dual-tone dashboard, leather seats, ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof. The cabin can accommodate five passengers and has ample headroom and legroom. The Atto 3 also has a large boot space of 410 liters that can be expanded to 1,200 liters by folding the rear seats.

Performance

The Atto 3 is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor that produces 136 hp and 210 Nm of torque. The motor is paired with a single-speed transmission that sends power to the front wheels. The Atto 3 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 160 km/h.

The Atto 3 has a lithium-ion blade battery pack that has a capacity of 50 kWh. The battery pack is ultra-safe and can withstand high temperatures and impacts without catching fire or exploding. The battery pack also has a long lifespan of over one million kilometers. The Atto 3 can travel up to 350 km on a single charge according to the NEDC cycle. The battery pack can be charged from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes using a fast charger.

Price and Competition

The BYD Atto 3 is expected to be priced at around NPR 55 lakhs in Nepal. It will compete with other electric SUVs such as the MG ZS EV, Hyundai Kona Electric, and Kia Niro EV. The Atto 3 will offer an attractive option for customers who are looking for a sporty and smart electric SUV that can deliver on performance and range.
