The story of the Chinese flying car Xpeng hitting the skies in Dubai recently got hype. In no time of the news, the world is again in the wait for the flying motorcycle to race through the skies. The California-based company JetPack Aviation is set to launch the world’s first-ever flying motorcycle “Speeder”, in the year 2023.

Not surprisingly, sci-fi movies envisioned such products, years back. Hence, now a dream turned reality motorcycle, “Speeder” is one of the highly anticipated, scientific products of modern times. To know about the general details of the motorcycle, keep reading!

Speeder General Specifications

  1. Take off and Landing Space

No more than 2 feet of space is required to park a general on-road motorcycle. So, it’s fair to be concerned about the size, take-off, and landing of Speeder So, is it possible to take off and land Speeder anywhere?

As per the JetPack Aviation company, Speeder requires a space as large as a car, for take-off and landing. Hence, one can take off this motorcycle even from the rooftop space and land it there too. An area adjusting a small car can easily adjust Speeder, what can be better than that?

2. Timing

The “Speeder” has sustained for as long as 22 minutes in the air. The range of the timing given by the company is from 10 to 22 minutes. However, the speed also depends upon the weight of the pilot, plus the density altitude. Due to the use of natural fuels, Speeder, like its name, will have a great speed. So, even 10 to 22 minutes continuously in the air is no less of a timing of a flying motorcycle.

Apart from that, the company has also been preceding towards upgrading the motorcycle, with the phase 1 and 2 tests.

3. Size and Reach

The company has promoted the Speeder to be the smallest flying motorcycle. It’s apparent that the decision of making Speeder a fuel-based engine bike was due to the weight of the battery in EVs. Making it an EV would allow a shorter reach than the fuel-based vehicle.

Speaking of its weight, the P1 prototype which weighed 231 pounds allowed the take-off, climb the sky, drift in the air, twist and spin, as well as perform slow transitions.

Needless to say, the makers are working on making the P3 prototype of Speeder travel 300 miles at a height of 15,000 feet for 20 good minutes.

Further, sneak into the other specifications of the P3 Prototype.

Features of the P3 Prototype

Jetpack Aviation Speeder Prototype P3

  • Fully stabilized
  • Fully-formed body with closely packed wings
  • Small Carbon-fiber body paneled frame by replacing the aluminum chassis of the older model.
  • Vertical take-off and Landing Vehicle (VTOL), multi-mission, and air utility.
  • Useful in firefighting and emergency medical services
  • Either pilot-controlled or even fully autonomous ride
  • Turbojet Engines

Drawback of Speeder

One of the main downsides of this flying motorcycle is its fuel use. When the world is advancing toward EVs, bringing up a whole new product that makes high use of petrol and diesel doesn’t sound modern enough. Also, it seems like, the company made a major focus on the navy’s use of the vehicle. However, on a good note, Speeder is now up for commercial use, and the company is also working on the EV version for the future.

Originally, the Speeder Motorcycle was priced at USD 380,000. However, at the present time, the company website has not listed this price. Hence, JetPack Aviation will supposedly revise this price in the upcoming days while launching the motorcycle.
